E*Doc - Document Management System: SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Hardware and Software Requirements

E*Doc Document Management System exclusively uses Microsoft Server software. The system requires a Windows 2000 Server (or higher) with IIS and SMTP services installed, SQL Server 2000 (or higher) and the File System space to house all of the electronic documents and system support folders. This configuration can be all on one server or have each piece on different servers all connected via your network.

These are the suggested minimum hardware and software specifications:

USER WORKSTATION:

  • IE 5.0 web browser or Greater
  • Browser Plug-In Viewers for desired Document Types to be managed

WEB SERVER

  • Windows2000 Server Higher
  • IIS 4.0 or Higher
  • SMTP mail service
  • 15 MB of Hard Drive Space for code files on web server.

DATABASE SERVER:

  • SQL Server 2000 or higher
  • 200 MB of Hard Drive Space for 300,000 document database records

FILE SYSTEM SERVER:

  • Approximately 15 GB of shelf space per 100,000 documents – depends on file sizes.
  • Disk Space for your User Workspace Folders and System Support Folders

NETWORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Network access from Web Server to database server, document repository (Shelf) and User Workspace Folders – if on separate machines
  • Network access to web server from client machines
